Nuisance Dust
Nuisance dust may be an inevitable consequence of some industries such as quarrying, mining and mineral processing. Other operationssuch as landfill, demolition and agriculture can also lead to dust generation. This dust can be fall a short distance from a site, or dependant on prevailing weather conditions can be carried a long distance from the site falling on residential properties soiling washing, cars and dirtying windows.residents can potentially be affected by dust up to 1km from the source (although concerns are most likely to be within 100 metres).
Nuisance dust assessments normally takes the form of an initial baseline survey and then surveying during and after a project has been completed in order to indicate whether activities result in an increase in the levels of nuisance dust.
