Commercial and Industrial Noise

Dragonfly Acoustics has extensive experience in dealing with commercial and industrial noise issues.
Commercial Noise
Commercial noise issues can range from planning noise assessments for air handling and cooling plant to large warehousing and distribution sites where late night and early morning deliveries can cause significant complaints from nearby residents.
In addition to environmental noise issues we can also assist with the design of the building interior to meet your specific acoustic requirements. Dragonfly Acoustics has worked on projects such as:
- BREEAM Assessments for office buildings.
- Noise impact from office heating and cooling systems.
- Noise impact from commercial vehicle movements.
- Noise Impact of distribution and warehousing hubs.
Industrial Noise
Our experience with industrial sites ranges from planning applications for waste management facilities to oil and gas terminals and on to plants to generate energy from waste. We have wide experience with the range of noise problems that can occur at these sites.
Some of the issues we routinely encounter are:
- Heavy and light industrial noise.
- Noise generated by fixed plant, such as air conditioning and air handling extract units.
- Noise modelling of construction sites and open cast mining quarrying facilities.
- Noise from waste handling and processing facilities.
- Noise from drilling operations.
- Noise from exhaust stacks.
- Noise from power generation plant (such as combined heat and power units).
The legislation and guidance in the field of environmental noise is extensive, detailed and at times often contradictory. It is unusual that any one of piece of guidance fits all aspects of an issue.
Dragonfly Acoustics is experienced in liaising with the relevant planning or environmental control authority to ensure that your development has the smoothest possible path to completion.
Using basic techniques or ‘CadnaA’ noise mapping software from ‘DataKustik’, we can deal with the environmental noise issues associated with your development to a timescale to suit your schedule and at a cost to suit your budget.
We undertake accurate on-site assessments and deliver clear and concise reports. Our consultants have worked on project sites around York, Yorkshire and throughout the rest of the UK, including London, Birmingham, Lincolnshire, Cardiff, Staffordshire, Manchester and Kent.
