Chris Chittock
Chris is a founding Director of Dragonfly Acoustics and is responsible for the day to day running of our office in Cawood.
Chris has a BSc(Hons) in Audio technology from Salford University and has more than 9 years experience as an acoustic consultant. Chris started his career working for the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy as a noise and vibration engineer and then moved into private consultancy. Chris has worked for a number of large and small consultancies around the UK including a stint measuring noise levels on Oil Rigs!
Chris is skilled in architectural acoustic design and he also has significant experience dealing with noise issues related to planning applications. Some of the projects Chris has recently worked on include
- Noise assessment for planning consent relating to an Energy from Waste (EFW) plant in East Yorkshire;
- Noise assessment for planning consent relating to waste transfer station in North Yorkshire;
- Discharge of planning conditions, acoustic design and testing of an 80+ room Hotel Development in York;
- Acoustic Design for a performing arts facility of a higher education college, Lincolnshire;
- Noise assessment for the discharge of planning conditions relating to the expansion of a private school in North Yorkshire.
- Noise Impact Assessments for smoking shelters for licensed premises.
Chris is a Member of the institute of Acoustics. In addition to his role at Dragonfly Acoustics, Chris is also a Director of York Professionals and Chairman of the newly formed MAKE-YORK organization that promotes the role of young professionals in York.
Chris is also a member of York Business Forum and a contributor to York Property Forum.
In his spare time Chris is an avid squash player and plays rugby (poorly) for Selby RUFC.
